As time goes by memories can fade
But some stay close in a special place
More protected than valuables in a locked box
Outlasting all the swirly shells and pearly rocks
Underneath the warm glow of memory
About a love unforced; unobligatory
Is the peace and rest in all the time spent
The feeling of ‘home’ without paying a rent
Much more than could be measured in quantity
But quality that would topple a scale
By which we might try to measure a friend
The kind of generosity that helps a heart to mend
I’ve found that some people bring you to Jesus
In gentleness - without a point or push
By emanating a part your spirit needs
Brought to Him by a heart that unconsciously leads
To have known this was a beautiful blessing
A rare treasure nothing can take away
So deeply engraved there’s a permanent impression
Surely God’s divine expression
