An Unspoken Entreaty

Will you listen with your heart and not just hear it with your ears? Will you move forwards and embrace, rather than nod, then back away? Will you speak from compassion and not just spill words from your mouth? Will you turn up, and stay, and not only say you'll pray? Will you learn the battle before you judge how we should fight it? Will you hurt with our pain, instead of shielding yourself from the storm? Will you stand in our army as well as shining our armour? Will you lift us up when you can see we’re down and worn? Will you comfort us through the chaos; make carrying the weight of it lighter? Will you keep hold of our hand even when the story's getting old? Will you remember it’s still there after the conversation is over? Will you journey it with us, though the end is untold?
